Having Patience During Spiritual Battles

One thing I know for sure is that nobody likes unpleasant situations.  Especially when the situation has no end in sight.  Most people when looking for the exit are willing to  compromise other things to get some sort of relief. The overwhelming nature of spiritual warfare convinces the weary to take a route that they perceive will release them from the battle they face ultimately leading them away from the will of God and unknowingly into the trap of devils.  The longer person has to fight the weaker their faith gets and patience wears thin.  This is one of the most potent strategies Satan uses to convince Christians to give up the battle against him.

Heb 10:35-36 says   “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. “.   Satan knows this weakness and exploits Christians by extending the battle as long as possible.  He knows he cannot get the ultimate victory with a determined believer in Christ, so he plays a game of spiritual attrition.   These days people are so used to getting what they want, when they want it. Very few people are willing to wait on God for much of anything.

King David was a man of war naturally and spiritually.   He had much power in his natural hands but he learned to be patient for God.  Psalms 40:1-2 says, “I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”   I can tell you that no one can bring you victory in battle like God can.  Not only will he give you the victory, but he will make your enemies your footstool.

Knowing your victory is certain is a good start to add a fire to your faith and help you to be patient.  Here are a few others things that you can do to help develop the strength to be patient:

  1.  Keep a testimony of God’s faithfulness
  2.  Read scriptures about God’s promises
  3.  Pray Unceasingly
  4.  Keep Your Faith
  5. After you have done all to stand….stand
